| "Kickin' Kuties" sport new look offense in 1-0 win over Trenton More speed, more aggressivness, more shots on goal. Coach Bauer's girls are taking advantage of the strength of its youth with four freshmen starting on varsity this year. Even with the new, more aggressive offensive, the Lady Flashes haven't forgotten their defensive posture. with a great part of the first half being played in the mid-field area nad Trenton's girls also showing good team speed, the "Kickin Kuties" back liners did a great job of keeping the Lady Toronados front line from putting anything in the net. Second year goalie Angela "A-Jay" Federico was great in goal with seven saves in the first half. Although the "Kuties" only scored once, the front liners and mid-fielders were impressive with their ability to put the ball in the visitors half of the field and keep it there for long periods of time. A little more sharpness and better timing of their passes, and they will surely put more goals into the opposing teams net. We're looking forward to seeing the scores increase as the player get more familiar with each other and the system. The lone goal was scored by Amanda "Gutz" Lutz late in the first half who beat two Lady Toronado defenders inside the right corner of the box. | |
| Lady Northstars, leave "Kickin' Kuties" searching for their offense Using their speed, quickness and aggressive style of play, the Lady North Stars managed to keep the Lady Flashes in their own half of the field for most of the game. Playing on your own side of the midfield stripe doesn't give you much of a chance to score. On the positive side, the Lady North Stars only managed two scores, one in the first half and one in the second half. Goalie Angela "AnGee" Federico was superb in between the posts with countless stops, and the back line did a good job considering the amount of time spent in our half of the field. The Kuties front line and mid-fielders just couldn't seem to keep the ball long enough to mount any kind of attack, as the Lady North Stars constantly picked their pocket when dribbling, won most of the kicked balls and throw-ins, and were much better at anticipating ball movement on passes. |
